Spring in Colorado

(Since I've taken this picture, we probably have a 1/2" on the ground/streets/cars--anything that snow can stick to!)

It started out with a little rain yesterday. Not bad for spring. Then today it was pouring BUCKETS of rain...turned to a rain/snow mix and we are under a winter storm warning...

In the last 10 minutes it's started snowing...and sticking...Can someone remind Mother Nature that it's LATE APRIL!?!?!

All that snow??

It's melted for the most part (except for the shady areas) - it's a beautiful 60 degrees outside today...No more rain/snow til Tuesday...

BUT when the snow melts fast, our pond overflows into the backyard! And then the sump pump starts a'pumpin' -- and we get a riverulet from the back door to the pond...

Now, do you see why I haven't let my boys play in the backyard today?

(*hopefully those flags and boards are put to good use soon and we will have our deck built, then we can design the remainder of the backyard around it)...

Flashback Friday - March 2009

IDK if this is truly a flashback since today looks exactly the same as it did a year ago (March 25, 2009)....

huh, sure looks like more than 17 1/4"...Must be the drifts that's making it look like there's so much...And still it is snowing at a pretty good clip here...not supposed to stop til around midnight!

13"...That's 4" since last measure at 11:00 this morning...so it's slowing down


Oh yeah, and tomorrow's another snow day! Kelly uploaded pics earlier...Tyler is not a snow bunny (of course having a May birthday he loves the summertime with no clothes and lots of swimming)...but Zac??? I couldn't get him to come in from the snow (my December baby!)...He hates summer time...but adores the snow! I hope the weather is warm(er) tomorrow -- it's supposed to be -- so I can take him outside and play some more before it melts away...I'm pretty sure most of it will be gone by Saturday!

First Official Snow Storm of the Year!

Schools are closed...and I just got a call telling me that Tyler's school is closed tomorrow (which means the rest will probably close as well). Here's some pics:

Crazy Colorado Weather -- but I'm enjoying it! Winter storm watch till noon tomorrow here -- It's thundering and lightning with the snow! You should see the size of the flakes -- I tried to get a pic of them, but they are fall hard and fast!

I didn't see it at first either...Today it's melted and the roads are DRY!

Harley's heading out to see Monsters vs. Aliens with respite today...he's been planning it for WEEKS!

I'm hoping to get started on painting the kitchen some time this week (I mentioned this about SIX months ago!). The older kids won't be going ANYWHERE today so they can help...they've been slacking off and having so much fun they've not been doing their chores...but

They got to go sledding yesterday and I had to let that happen since the snow won't be around long! (sorry, no pics, I stayed home with Zachary and took a nap!!)

Of course I still have a chunk of housework to catch up on today, but they're gonna help so it should go well....

March 2009 Blizzard

Watch the slide in the backyard...as of right now, it's still sprinkling just a little bit of snow!

Harley's fever and cough that is...his fever's not as high as yesterday, but man that cough sounds awful. So again, no school today -- and since he's home sick today I have to cancel Zachary's speech therapist (They request if anyone in the house is sick to reschedule)....Awww, another beautiful day with bright sunshine and great weather...at least I can air out the house again today!

Shocking!

Everyone thinks Colorado is famous for snow...Shocking to me was seeing that the east coast is being hit by SNOW! BIG TIME!! It's supposed to be in the mid-60's today here...with temps just getting warmer and breaking records through the week!! I am excited! I can't wait to get the boys outside to play...hopefully the wind won't blow them away!

I'm sure we'll get hit with a heavy spring storm sometime this month...after all March is supposed to be the 'snowiest' month for us...If we don't get more snow I'm afraid we may be in for a drought this summer and that would suck -- the kids are so looking forward to doing lots of tubing this summer since we now have TWO vans and can take a LOT more friends! :)

What's Up??

Amazingly enough the temperature!! It's supposed to be in the 70s here today! Hopefully I can get some pictures of my boy having some fun in the sun!! Have I mentioned how much I hate my backyard? It's been nicknamed "the Tundra" around here...There is sooo much mud out there!! I can't let Zachary crawl around out there...It's bad enough that Tyler comes in covered in mud...Although he doesn't mind having to take baths daily (rather than every other day!)

So housework is gonna fall by the wayside so that we can be outside enjoying this unseasonably warm weather!!

TTC News: Yay for crosshairs!! I was beginning to wonder if it's right but the more I look at it, I'm sure it's right now...so...If you're a chart stalker...compare my current chart with the one from October 2008...so many simiilarities -- even the 'symptoms'...I sure hope Mary Ellen and Anne are right and this is the month of another pregnancy (with my history of getting pregnant every 2-3 months)...Let's hope that this is one of those months -- but with one difference!? A STICKY bfp?!
