Holy Cow I am Slacking....

Wow, I've really really been bad at keeping my blog up to date....I really DO need to get back on it. Someday I want to do the "blog to book" but then I have to add the pictures in myself....that would be a lot of work, but would definitely give the kids something like a scrapbook, which I am awful about getting around to!! Maybe I will start putting it on my calendar!?

School is restarting here soon too...I've have a lot less fights to break up :D...maybe that will give me more time.

Let's see what have I missed? We finally finished the deck (except for the landing step, which is now going to be more than a step...it will be a full decking leading to the rest of the yard...

We've also gotten a boardwalk built behind our pond...and a 'bridge' of sorts across it. The fish are becoming more accustomed to us now and come out when they see us...they are learning to be hand-fed...which is really cool! If we could figure a way to get the water clear I may be able to get a picture or two of the fish...They also spawned some babies, so we've gone from having 7 fish to having about 20 now...all varying colors. Very pretty baby kois!!

Oh and we got a dog too...the cat is NOT happy at all. He's a gorgeous dog...and very well behaved! He's wonderful with the kids. Oh his name is Blaze...he's the color of an Irish setter and we were told that the pound thought he may be a german shepard/chow mix.

We got a swamp cooler which was wonderful when the heat was over 100* (and the house was over 90*....but it's just one of those window jobbies...which is now installed through our bedroom window...and now Andrew's lost his FengShui corner he had built because it freezes his bonzais....bummer!

I think I've mentioned that we are going on our first family vacation in 9 years...it's only to Buena Vista for 2 nights and 3 days but at least it's away from here. Wish us luck that Harley will be able to handle it....I'm not so sure..we are planning to tent camp...Harley doesn't even handle 'camping' in our own backyard...I'm thinking me, Harley and the littles are going to end up getting a motel room while Kelly and Andrew end up in the tent (Robert is going to be staying home)....

Well, my littles are giving me a run for my money in going to bed and raising my blood pressure so I better try to get them back to bed for the 1,093,309,210,092 time tonight....

Memorial Day Weekend 2010

Our goal to visit different parks didn't end just because it was a holiday!
We went to Belleview Park (and Cornerstone Park) and played in the water fountains, the sandbox, the playground, visited the petting zoo and rode the Lions Train....















We also went to the "hat Park" which runs alongside a fork of Little Bear Creek. We couldn't keep Harley outta the river...very dangerous with the water being so high and fast moving...and COLD from being snow melt coming off the mountains






We got there through the "nature park"...which is an area of open space that has 5 retaining ponds for the water run off from Fort Logan National Cemetery

Saturday we celebrated Harley's 13th & Tyler's 4th birthday with friends...


We BBQ'd on our *almost* done deck...(still needs railings and repainted)





Since the party was outside, we couldn't get the candles lit...so we "fake blew out the candles" LOL
