Can you hear me now?

Zac had his appointment on his tubes yesterday and a little hearing test. (not the full 2 hour one where he needs to be sleeping thankfully!)...His ears are plugged so they describe his hearing as sounding like he's underwater. The only way they could do a complete test was to put these special sensors on his bones...that showed the bones are conducting the sound correctly...his ears are just plugged. Both the audiologist and the ENT agree that that is probably why he is not babbling like 'typical' (although he does babble sometimes, just not often)...and could be why he's not crawling or standing...after all if your ears are plugged your equalibrium is off.

So we go back the day before Thanksgiving for another hearing test. I was surprised that the doctor has decided not to do anything with the tubes being plugged, but he suggests waiting and seeing if the waxy substances that are clogging his tubes clear up on their own...give the body a chance to 'heal' itself....

The audiologist also mentioned that his ear canals are smaller than they should be and appear collapsed...that's the first I've heard this...anyone else hear of this?
