Did you know? That washing your hands takes 11 steps? Here it is broken down...
1. go to the bathroom
2. turn on the light
3. walk to the sink
4. turn on the water
5. apply soap
6. rub hands together
7. rinse hands
8. turn off water
9. dry hands
10. turn off light
11. leave bathroom
This is what a day in the life of me is...everything is broken down into individual steps...I really should go back to using the Picture Symbol Schedules, but I thought he had outgrown that...It seems that this hormone monster is making him forget some of the very first things he's learned...
Oh and and update on the meds...Ends up the "new" med gave him an upper respiratory infection...with an asthmatic autistic this is NOT a good thing. The dr agreed that we need to stop these meds completely and immediately...BUT he wants us to start back up with the old meds he was on that wasn't giving him much more relief (but giving me some relief in the sleep department...on the old meds he would at least sleep about 3-4 straight hours!!)
Tonight we have a fall down, scream, cry moment because he couldn't take his meds. I explained that that is what gave him his cough and that we are going to get a new med from Safeway tomorrow. Of course, instead of this calming him, he FREAKED out and said..."but that one will make me sick too!)...I swear sometimes I feel like I can never win!!
