We had a wonderful ultrasound yesterday! First - since the blood tests said high risk of downs, they took the various measurements of the skin on the neck, arms and legs. It appears this is a healthy boy (from what can be seen on the ultrasound anyhow!). We also learned it is a BOY!! Well, I guess so much for Harley's intuition as well as mine and my husband's -- We ALL felt it was a girl! My sweet husband is still not ready to accept it's a boy. . . He can't imagine all of us being wrong. . .But I've seen plenty of boy parts in my 38 years on this earth and I'm agreeing with the dr.
The ultrasound pictures we got were not the most exciting. . . we got a picture of the spine and head (side view). But we couldn't get any pictures of the face, darnit! We got an arm and a hand and a leg and a foot. This boy's gonna have some BIG feet!!
We broke the news to Harley yesterday, that it will not be baby Skyler after all, and now he's gotta call the baby "ZAC". He's still calling it Skyler. . .
My poor daughter was about ready to disown us after the dr announced boy! She screamed NO and fell down crying. She wouldn't speak to us the rest of the way home. She finally calmed down and talked to me after a couple of hours, but is still avoiding Andrew. . .
My oldest son, Robert was the only one holding out saying it was a boy. When he saw his sister come out of the ultrasound room, he was SOOO HAPPY!! He KNEW the results by the look on her face! He thinks one sister is enough!
Tyler's still a little young to understand but I'm sure he will have fun with his little brother!
Well, I guess I was destined to have a house filled with testosterone!! Now I've gotta go and find a wonderful ticker that announces our BOY #4!!

I'm so excited for you! We can both have boys this winter ;-). I love your "boy parts" comment. I agree...ours definitely looked like a boy. Like someone else said, your DD can revel in the fact she's the only sister...like the sole princess!! Something like that!
