That I'd be back...I am NOT happy...the contradict each other so many times in this document!! I know I'm gonna have to call ARC now and have an IEP Addendum meeting, which can be scheduled with the "next" meeting we're supposed to have -- his transition meeting (that was supposed to be happening today!)! GRH!!
So the OT says he doesn't need her services but suggests a list of items for sensory to aid in learning...Ok, shouldn't she at least be on a consult basis then? Does she expect that who ever is his aide will know all about sensory issues and know how to use them? And besides, the aide doesn't get to read the IEP unless I send it to her/him so ???? Then the next page is from the Adapted PE teacher... and she says he still needs some assistance with gross motor skills...Ok...is this not part of OT? WTH??
His setting code is currently at 40% in the regular classroom and they suggest it remains that. BUT then they say in the body of the text that he spends more than half the time in the regular classroom with "intensive adult support".
They list that he is not qualified for ESY, yet the only reason he is not going to ESY is because we have decided to send him to summer camp instead...so shouldn't this be marked as "other"?
Then when you get to the page of the strategies to use, the OT didn't even bother to check the sensory items box? She said he qualified to be discharged from OT at school IF HE HAD these items!! One hand doesn't know what the other is doing? WTH?
And one BIG HUGE thing I don't understand....They have been using a behavior plan where each teacher signs and he earns monopoly money based on good behavior. I think I've listed in a previous post here about what the preferred behaviors were? I'll have to find a copy, I'm sure I have one here somewhere...BUT they don't have a behavior plan attached to the IEP??? I mean I got probably 10 calls in one week about his behavior and they don't attach a behavior plan? WTH??
Now I don't even want to go to this meeting...THEY are no prepared!!!
