So this note comes home in his back and forth book -
"Harley had a good morning. Today he was humming, tapping and pacing around. He talked to himself A LOT. At lunch he was spitting on other kids. He was calling them jers and telling them to shut up. He threw his lunch box down. I picked it up and he grabbed it from me and hit me with it. After a few minutes he was calm and returned to classes. Have a good night"
Now, this is a typical night at home but something made him lash out at school today. I don't know if it's the new meds he's on? Maybe they are giving him no relieft at all? Or maybe it's because the moon is in it's Full Moon Phase? Whatever it is it can't continue for too long...No matter what his disability and IEP, I really don't think the school should / will allow it for too long. If it's the meds, in looking up this med -- it can take 4 to 6 weeks for it to work!! Umm, yeah, we're not gonna make it if it takes that long. His psychiatrist is not available to talk to and the only other option they've given us is to take him to ER for eval (and probably a psych hold!!)--Umm, yeah, that's not gonna happen either!!
So I wonder how tonight will go? I wonder if he will be up until at least 2 am (when I went to sleep) again? He's pacing faster, talking to more hallucinations, being more aggressive since starting these meds...but then again it could be the full moon cycle, which always whacks him out! I even dropped him TWO sleeping pills (prescription ones and as advised by the dr if one didn't work to give him a second one)...Nothing worked...He slithered down the hallway like a snake, crawled like a cat stalking something, roared like a lion....*sigh* He even came into our room while we were ... er ... busy ... and just stood there, not saying anything (but I don't know if he was seeing anything as he seemed to be in a trance?) -- Talk about a mood killer!!?
