On Monday we went with Harley to see the psych to discuss meds and how they are NOT working the way they are 'supposed' to...Of course, the dr just said "We'll double the dose and see how that works. Come back in 4 weeks and let me know". I told him we had tried that before and it made him too tired to function, but he suggested that we should try that anyway since he's put on some weight it may change the way his metabolism handles it.
Well, yesterday at camp he ended up being sleepy and sleeping for nearly 2 hours from noon to 2. This is NOT what we pay $40 an hour for. Not only that but he starts school up in 13 days. I don't want him sleeping at school...of course, becuase he napped yesterday, he had a rough time going to sleep...he was still up at 11:30 when I went to bed last night...
This morning, I've been trying to wake him up for over 1/2 an hour and can't rouse him at all! I am so frustrated with this whole med business!!
The doctor did suggest giving it to him at 3:00 in the afternoon...great, if I saw my kid at 3:00 in the afternoon that would work, but I pick him up at 3 and it's not like I can carry the meds with me and have them get left in the van...Once school starts, I won't see him till 5:00 (and won't get home till 6:00) three days of the week...the other 2 days of the week he won't get home till 4:15. I really don't want to make the school medicate him...
WTH AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?
