Family Reunion Fiasco? Part two, day two

At Chatfield resevior...We arrive and everyone is sitting around in a circle. We took Zachary's jumperoo and I picked a place to set it up near me. The older group suggested setting it up in another part of the circle because there was more shade over there (and I figured they wanted to see the baby, talk to him). So we moved it over there and I went to get a plate of food. When I returned I saw that Zac was sitting there, trying to get their attention, but no one was talking (no less LOOKING) at him. So I moved him to where I was originally planning to put him...why the hell did they want me to put him over there if they were going to act like he didn't exist?? GRR!

The 'other' Davis' (Ray and his kids ages 14-23) announced they were heading to the swim beach. We told them we would head over as soon as we got the kids organized. We get to the swim beach and they are no where to be found (we later found out that they were snorkeling and that's why we didn't see them). We spent about an hour at the swim beach and returned to the picnic spot.

As we arrived as the picnic spot we noticed that EVERYTHING and EVERYONE was gone!? The only things that remained there were our things. Raymond (the other Davis) was in this truck about to leave and said "well everyone else left"...not a goodbye, not a bite me, nothing? We were only 1/2 a block away from the picnic spot...someone could've come and told us that everyone was leaving so we could've said our hellos and goodbyes but they "didn't want to disturb us and our family"...Wow! I was just in shock as to how unfriendly the whole family was to our family!

We were invited by Ray's kids to take our kids on the boat. Robert, Kelly and Troy (Kelly and Robert's friend) went on the boat and rode the tube behind the boat for a while. When they returned to dock, they asked Andrew if he wanted to go for a boat ride...he took Harley with him. Harley found a knife on the boat and began trying to battle all the evil demons...Andrew took the knife away from him...Then he found a pen and tried to stab the side of the boat saying he was going to sink the boat becuase of the evil creatures trying to attack the boat. Needless to say, Andrew and Harley got to ride the boat about 5 minutes till they decided to take it out of the water. Andrew was pretty bummed.

BUT the good in it!? We got a couple of pictures of our own kids at the lake. Tyler really enjoyed swimming...Zachary enjoyed playing in the sand (and swimming with momma!) and took a little nap on the beach. All in all it was a good day...whether I would call it a family reunion? Not a chance...I guess I shouldn't have expected too much from them.

Of course they wanted to know if we were going to join them for Part Three, Day three...out on the 40 acres of property in Eastern Colorado...They set up a shooting range out there....uuumm, no thanks -- The last thing we need is to get Harley out there and freak out because they are wildly shooting guns all over the place. (Ray and his kids all have gun and weapon fetishes)--Not only that, but why would we subject ourselves to another day of being pushed out of the family circle as outcasts?
