The ultrasound today showed no improvement and the little bit of something that was in the sac last week was not there. The sac has grown, but not as much as it should’ve. My betas are down to 9,000 from 10,000 two weeks ago. She said the cervix is still closed tightly and could find no indication as to where the bleeding I’ve been experiencing has been coming from. The sac is holding tight…They do still want me to ‘collect the remains’ (my choice of words).
They gave me three choices: D&C, wait it out or have a vaginal suppository of prolactin to speed the process of mother nature. I opted for the speedy route because I just can’t take the roller coaster ride anymore (There goes the theory that I’m a strong woman!). I know there is no heartbeat nor is there even anything in the sac that could even begin to form a heartbeat / fetal pole. I was told there is a 90% chance this will move it along within 24 hours. I return tomorrow to see MY FAV DOC for a final ultrasound. If everything has not passed by then, I will be given yet one more attempt at the suppository before I am advised of the necessity of a D&C. Then I will have to return again Friday for another ultrasound. To ensure everything has passed….
I got my rhogam shot today. I didn’t have to repeat my betas today. I will do betas once a week to ensure they are returning to ‘pre pregnancy’ levels. Once they have returned to pre pregnancy levels, I’m assuming they will give me the light to TTC again.
I’m sorry, I just don’t think I can post this to each of the boards today. I am physically and mentally exhausted and in pain…
